The State of Colorado is home to 53 mountain peaks over fourteen thousand feet. There is debate here in Colorado about the exact number of peaks over fourteen thousand feet, with the Colorado Geological Survey stating there are 58 peaks over the fourteen thousand foot mark. In 2008, the Survey updated their list with current elevations that may differ from the USGS older surveys and maps.

If your looking for elevation, Colorado has you covered, with several hundred peaks over 13,000 feet high. From the ease of hiking Pikes Peak, or driving to the top, to the technical aspects of the Elk Mountain Peaks, Colorado meets the climbers challenge.

The Western Colorado Outdoors guide serves as an introduction and resource for exploring our highest peaks.
