Crested Butte: Slate River Valley
To hike the many Slate River Valley trails: from Crested Butte’s main intersection, travel toward the ski area (Gothic Road), turning left at the cemetery after crossing the Slate River onto Road 734. Several miles north, you will see a parking area (past Nicholson Lake- private) and campsite down on the river. This area is the main jumping off point for the Oh-Be-Joyful area.
