Hike: Aspen
The foundation for hiking and climbing in the Aspen area is the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness Area. This wilderness area was part of the original Wilderness Act of 1964, as one of five original Colorado wilderness areas. Because of it’s iconic scenery, large numbers of visitors have resulted in a permit system, which is a free self registering and available at trail heads.
