he Yampa River flows from the Park Range in Routt County. Created from the confluence of the Bear River and Phillips Creak, near the town of Yampa. Total length is 250 miles, the Yampa travels from high mountain valleys into the high desert of northwestern Colorado. The Yampa River is the last major free flowing river in the Colorado River Basin.
