Located in northwestern Colorado in the Yampa Valley. The reservoir at 900 acres of water is the only water recreation site in Moffat County.

Activities: boating, biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, hiking, horseback trails, hunting, ice fishing, jet skiing, sailing, paddle boarding, water skiing, swimming, wildlife viewing and boat ramp.

Winter: ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife viewing.

Fish: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Black Crappie, Northern Pike, Bluegill, Rainbow Trout.
Access: Easy

Additional Info:
-Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass can negatively impact this fishery. Anglers can help control these fish by keeping their legal bag limit.
-The bag and possession limit for Crappie is 10 fish.
-The bag and possession limit and minimum size for largemouth Bass is two fish, 15 inches in length.
-Underwater spearfishing may be used for fishing Northern Pike or Carp, when present, in accordance with Colorado Parks and Wildlife regulations. -Underwater Spearfishing is prohibited within 100 feet of any marina, boat ramp, swim beach or dam infrastructure.

The new Bear’s Ears Campground has 14 sites, with picnic tables, fire pits, and shade shelters.

From Hayden, highway 40 west to County Road 29, turn right for 5 miles to County Road 28.
