Eagles Nest Wilderness Area

Established in 1976, the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area is located in the southern area of the Gore Range (named for Sir George Gore who was on a hunting expedition lead by the mountain man Jim Bridger. During Colorado’s Gold Rush, this region was popular with miners seeking both gold and silver.
