JMorganstate parks

Vega State Park is located at the base of Grand Mesa, just south east of Palisade. Vega boasts the largest lake or reservoir in Mesa County, at 925 acres out of a total of 1,823 for the entire park. At an elevation of 7,696 feet, Vega provides a refreshing break from the higher temperatures of the Grand Valley on a warm summer day. The dam and reservoir were constructed in the late 1950’s by the Bureau of Reclamation, with the state park being created in 1967.

Located along the reservoir are four campsites, open from Spring to Fall:

Early Settlers: 34 RV sites, hookups, bathhouse with toilets and showers.

Aspen Grove: 28 RV sites, centrally located water and vault toilets.

Oak Point: 37 RV sites, centrally located water and vault toilets.
