The Navajo Reservoir with 15,000 surface acres has year around attraction for water sports and fishing. The Park campgrounds offer 138 campsites, with many open 12 months of the year.
The Navajo Reservoir provides water storage for 110,000 acres of agricultural land on the Navajo Reservation. The Colorado side of the lake has about 3,000 acres. the Navajo State Park is a major outdoor recreation facility, with an average of 300,000 visitors a year.
Activities: biking, boating, cabins, yurts, camping, cross-country skiing, fishing, group picnicking, hiking, horseback riding (restricted), hunting, jet skiing, picnicking, sailing, swimming, water skiing, whitewater rafting, wildlife viewing, winter camping.
Winter Activities: cross-country skiing, open water fishing, boating (reservoir usually does not freeze), wildlife viewing.
Fish: Smallmouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Crappie, Yellow Perch. Northern Pike, Kokanee Salmon, Bluegill, Rainbow Trout

-Trotlines are permitted.
-Underwater spearfishing may be used for fishing Northern Pike or Carp, when present, in accordance with Colorado Parks and Wildlife regulations.
-Underwater Spearfishing is prohibited within 100 feet of any marina, boat ramp, swim beach or dam infrastructure.
