Located in Eastern Mesa County, Highline Lake State Park, has been called “an oasis in the desert.” Activities include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, water skiing, birding, and water foul hunting in season. The park is close to the mountain biking areas of the 18 Road Trail System and the Kokopelli Trail network. Around both lakes is a mountain bike trail that is part of the annual “18 Hours of Fruita” bike endurance race.
 

 
Camping at Highline Lake State Park:
-36 year round campsites with no electrical hookups
-Each campsite has a fire ring, grill, and picnic table.
-Tent area available at each campsite.
-Six people maximum for every campsite.
-7 Tent Only campsites.
-Coin operated showers and laundry facilities are available year round.
-The RV dump station, water spigots, and dumpsters are available year round.
-Group Camping for up to 100 people is available at the Park by reservation (tent camping only).
-Group Picnic Area, for up to 150 people with a large fire grill, covered eating area, restrooms, electricity, and water (from March to October).
