The Grand Mesa Scenic Byway, at 63 miles in length, travels northwest across the top of the Mesa providing the only paved access to fishing streams and lakes. The Mesa hosts a total of seven trout species. Wildlife includes moose, black bearm elk, mule deer, marmonts and a large variety of rodents. Summer months provide the lions share of activity, including fishing, camping, mountain bike riding, and hiking.
Winter activities include cross country skiing, snowmobiling,
and skiing at Powderhorn Mountain Resort.
