“The course winds up Monument Road and into the Colorado National Monument through the east entrance where Monument Road becomes Rim Rock Drive. It continues 23 miles over Rim Rock Drive until it descends down to the west entrance of the Colorado National Monument.
ALL ATHLETES MUST TAKE A SHUTTLE FROM FRUITA COMMUNITY CENTER (324 N Coulson St, Fruita, CO 81521) TO THE START LINES!!!! – No exceptions!
Start Locations & Times
MARATHON & RELAY: The marathon and relay start at the Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club (2328 Monument Road, Grand Junction, CO 81507).
RACE START: 8:00 AM
Marathon & 1st leg relay Shuttle will depart Fruita Community Center @ 7:00am SHARP
RELAY EXCHANGE: The relay exchange point is at Highland View in the Colorado National Monument.
the second leg relay runner shuttles departs Fruita Community Center @ 7:30AM SHARP
HALF MARATHON & 12K: The half marathon & 12K will drop off at the Saddlehorn Amphitheater parking lot and athletes will walk .25 miles to the start line near the Visitor Center.
The Half Marathon will first run UPHILL, turnaround at Monument Canyon View and run downhill to the finishline. The 12K will run downhill to Fruita.
Half Marathon Start: 8:30AM
Half Marathon Shuttle departs Fruita Community Center @ 7:30AM SHARP
12K Start: 9:00AM
12K shuttle departs Fruita Community Center @ 7:45am SHARP (need to beat the west entrance closure)
Finish line location
The finish line is in Circle Park in downtown Fruita (W. Aspen Ave, Fruita, CO 81521).
