“San Juan Skijoring was founded in 2017 under the Ouray County Rodeo Association. Our goal was to bring the winter sport of Western Skijoring to Ouray County during the slower winter months. SJS strives to provide an excellent event for not only our competitors but our spectators as well, while boosting the economy in our community. SJS is excited to continue building our local event and is constantly looking for ways to give back to our community, such as contributing to local scholarships.”
This year San Juan Skijoring will literally pay you to compete at our event in 2019. If you live from 600-800 miles we will furnish $75.00 per competitor and 800+ miles away we will provide 100 per competitor for gas. We will also be providing $25.00 per horse over 600 miles away. Please contact us before the race and let us know how many are in your group and we will get you money deserved to help make the trip. Plus we are officially announcing the largest added purse in history of 25k dollars.(With some of the cheapest entry fees – Open/Pro is only $150 per team.) Did we mention we also pay back 100% of the entry fees for each division.
